
The 10 Basic Steps in Special Education
- Child is identified as possibly needing special education and related services (i.e. Child Find, referral or request for evaluation).
- Child is evaluated.
- Eligibility is decided.
- CHild is found eligible for services, and within 30 days IEP Team must develop IEP for child.
- IEP meeting is scheduled.
- IEP is held and the IEP is written.
- After the IEP is written, services are provided.
- Progress is measured and reported back to parents.
- IEP is reviewed (at least once a year).
- Child is reevaluated.
